15th Lesson with Danielle

１クール目の最終回から約１ヶ月・・・。

仕事が忙しかったのと、英語学習へのモチベーションが下がったのとで、すっかりサボってしまいました・・・

今日から、いよいよ２クール目に入りました！

今回は、再び、First Interviewです。

しかし・・・、昨年の９月、Ashleyにインタビューを受けた時から、あんまり変わってね～ぞ！(笑)

まだまだ、修行が足りないってことかな・・・。

Title: It was worth every penny
A: Hey, what is this thing?
B: Oh, that's my new air treatment system, it just came yesterday.
A: Oh yeah? Why did you buy it?
B: I'm allergic to pollen so right around February and March my allergies flare up. This guy gets rid of any of the pollen that sneaks into my house.
A: So how's it working for you so far? Have you noticed a difference already?
B: Actually yeah, it's got a three filter system and each filter has a different function, so even after just one day, I already feel like the air is much cleaner.
A: Let me know how you feel about it after a couple of weeks, maybe I'll pick one up too.
B: It's already worth every penny, and it'll be battling against the evil flu virus for me as well.

レッスンのあとは、グループトーク。

これがまた苦手で・・・(笑)

今日は、まだ、スタートしたばかりの生徒さん二人と一緒でしたが、どっちがスタートしたばかりなのか、わかりません。

今日が２クール目です、なんて言わなきゃ良かったよ

今日、Danielleに作ってもらったスキットには、こんなフレーズが。

まさに、そのとおり！！

まだまだ、長い旅は続きそうです(笑)

ブログの更新をさぼり続けて、早や、いつ年月・・・(笑)

やっぱり、ブログは長続きしない・・・。

動物占いで「品格のあるチーター」の本領発揮です！

スタートダッシュと爆発力はあるものの、それが長続きしないのが、私の性格でして・・・(笑)

動物占いも、最初は面白くて、やり始めたものの、すぐに飽きました・・・。

年末年始の休みで、すっかりモチベーションが下がったところでの、最終回！！

１月９日、すでに終了しております(笑)




Title: Australian Ambassador continued...
A: So you said that Camden municipality and Kashiwa city were friendship cities. What is Kashiwa city like?
B: It is located in the Chiba prefecture, about 30 km outside of Tokyo. It has a population about 400,000, and out of that 6000 are foreigners.
A: Are there many Australians there because they are friendship cities?
B: Yes, specially from Camden because of the ties.
A: I see, what sort of atmosphere does Kashiwa city have?
B: Well in Japanese we call it a "bedroom town". Basically, this implores that many people live there, but don't engage in work there.
A: I see, that's an interesting term for it. How do I get to Kashiwa city?
B: Well, it's pretty close to Tokyo. You can easily take the JR's Joban line, or take the Tobu noda line or the Tsukuba express line. I recommend the JR because it's not as complicated as the others.

今日は、めずらしく一日予定がなく、ホントにのんびりした休日です

クリスマスてな訳で、スクールの近所にある「青山アンデルセン」で先日買ってきたシュトーレンを食べました。

これがめちゃくちゃ美味い

めずらしくケーキを食べない、クリスマスです

さぁ、クリスマスにちなんで、大好きな歌をご紹介します

タイトルは「The Twelve Days of Christmas」です。

たぶん、ご存知の方も多いのでは？

これは、Christmas Day(12/25)から数えた１２日間のことです。

以前から私が勉強しているNHKのラジオ英会話で、この時期になると必ずテキストで紹介される歌で、伝統的なクリスマスキャロルなんですね。

内容は、恋人から１２日間毎日ギフトが贈られてくるのですが、それが一日目のギフトにプラスして、二日目のギフトを持ってくるといった感じで、毎日、どんどんギフトが増えていくというものです。

したがって、歌詞もどんどん増えていくので、ついつい笑ってしまう、楽しい歌です

来年のバイリンガルFMのクリスマスパーティーで、みんなで歌ってみたらどうでしょう？(笑)

13th Lesson with Danielle

いよいよ１３回目！！

約１ヶ月ぶりのDanielleです

彼女とは、パーティーでもよく一緒に話をするので、すっかり仲良しです(笑)

今回、彼女と一緒に作ったスキットは、「自分の住んでいるまちを紹介する、説明する」なのですが、話しの中で、「なぜ？姉妹都市（sister city）ではなく友好都市（friendship city）なの？」と聞かれて、Danielleにつたない英語で一生懸命説明したら、なんとか理解してくれて、少しだけ自分の成長が感じられた瞬間でした・・・

嬉しい・・・

で、今回recordingしたのは、前回Jaclyneと一緒に作った「駐日オーストラリア大使に自己紹介する」です。

これは、先日、実際にオーストラリア大使にお会いした時に、納得いくしゃべりができなかったので(笑)、次回revengeできるように、あえてスキットにしてみました。





Title: Self-Introduction to Australian Ambassador
A: Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Satoru Ishido.
B: Nice to meet you Satoru, welcome to the Australian Embassy. I'm Murray McLean.
A: It's very generous of you to open the embassy for the Club Australia Christmas party. About 13 years ago, I was head of the International Friendship Agreement between Japan and Australia for 3 years.
B: Really? That's an interesting position. What is the Friendship Agreement?
A: The International Friendship agreement was made between Camden municipality in NSW and the town of Shonan in 1997. Since then, in 2005, Shonan merged with Kashiwa City, but Kashiwa city and Camden municipality continue to be friendship cities.
B: Wow, excellent. I hope their friendship will continue to expand into the future.


Danielleとのレッスンは面白い！！いつも、彼女とくすくす笑いながらやってます(笑)

今回は、彼女がmunicipalityの発音が苦手みたいで、それがやたらおかしかった

前にIanが録音中に、35,000yenをいきおいで35,000dollarと言いそうになって、面白かったこともありました。

さぁ、次回、ついに最終回！！

しかも、年明けの１月９日（日）です。中１７日です。

やばいな・・・(笑)

とにかく、あきらめずに続けること！！

年末年始のお休みは、英会話の勉強に励みます

Merry Christmas！！

12th Lesson with Jaclyne

１２回目にして、初！Jaclyneです！！

菅さんの事前情報だと、Jaclyneは“厳しい先生”とのことで(笑)、ちょっと緊張して臨みました。

が・・・、

とっても素敵な女性でした

すごく丁寧に教えてくれました。

細かい間違いを、その都度きちんと指摘してくれて、良かったです。

私のウィークポイント、ここを勉強すると良い！というのを教えてくれました。

若いけど（私より１７も若い！！）、さすが！！ベテラン先生という感じでした

指摘事項を実践できるかどうかが、今後の鍵ですな・・・(笑)

今回のテーマは、前回Ianと一緒に作った「ホテルのスタッフに送迎を依頼する」です。

B: Hello, I have a reservation under Ishido Satoru and I'm wondering if you can send somebody to pick us up at the train station.

B: Yes, that's okay. Can you hold my baggage at the front desk until check-in? I'd like to go see Nikko Tosho-gu this afternoon.
A: Certainly, would you like a shuttle to Nikko Tosho-gu?
B: Oh, that would be great, thank you. And one last thing, we'd like to have something for lunch near the temple, do you have any recommendations?
A: Yes, there are quite a few very charming restaurants near the temple. I can give you a map and description of each when you arrive at the lobby.
B: Perfect, I really appreciate it. Thank you.

リハでは、上手くできるのにな・・・

でも、Jaclyneには、「字がきれい」と誉められました(笑)

う～ん、もっと別なことで誉められるようにならねば・・・。
